In a callback case the client accepts the offer of a call from a counsellor at a local service to follow up on an initial contact. The callback case has elements in common both with a full therapeutic or financial counselling case and with an anonymous case. It is like a counselling case because you know who the client is but it is also like an anonymous case in that the contact with the client is limited.
It is anticipated that in some of these cases the person might gain sufficient confidence in the program to undertake counselling. Most of these cases originate with the Gambler’s Helpline but some will also follow an initial contact with a local service.
