Anonymous cases

Creating an anonymous case
Both the Gambler’s Helpline and the local services provide help, advice and information to people who are not registered clients of the Gambler’s Help program and who, at the time of their contact with the program, decline to become registered clients. Some of these people might choose to become clients at a later date, for others, the advice, support or information they receive in the anonymous case is all they want.

Three key features of the anonymous cases are:
*There is no associated client record
*It should never be left open, i.e., you mark it as Completed before you save and close
*An anonymous case completed at a local service will only ever have one associated activity.
In the edit case page, when you process an anonymous case, at a minimum you specify:
*Case type
*Agency
*The fields in the Anonymous section
*Primary Care Provider
*Stage
*The fields in the Closure section
*The fields in the Receipt section.
If the client volunteers more information, for example about their gambling situation or debt position, or if you also facilitate a referral for them to another service, you should also record this as well.

The more data we can record about anonymous clients, the better we can understand of the help seeking population and how they come to Gambler’s Help .
