In a callback case the client accepts the offer of a call from a counsellor at a local service to follow up on an initial contact. The callback case has elements in common both with a practitioner case and with an anonymous case. It is like a practitioner case because you know who the client is but it is also like an anonymous case because your contact with the client is limited.

In some of these cases the person might gain sufficient confidence in the program to have a practitioner case. Most of these cases originate with the Gambler’s Helpline but some will also follow an initial contact with a local service.
